Drama Classes for Kids
At Brio, drama classes are all about building upon a child's natural creativity and curiosity, growing confidence and self-esteem, and introducing them to the exciting world of theatre.
Students will have the opportunity to develop and hone their acting skills, and learn about monologues, improv, diction, scene study and more! Drama skills are tools for a lifetime of successful public speaking, and give kids access to their own unique voice. Students learn about trust, collaboration, creativity and spontaneity - they learn to work with their fellow students, all while developing their theatrical skills in a fun, safe environment.
Our unique drama curriculum is broken down into three sections
- Theatre Basics - Understanding and beginning to master the core theatre skills! Movement, projection, diction and character building.
- Theatre Craft - After we cover the basics, we start expanding on their skill base by introducing storytelling and more advanced character-building. This is all about self-expression, and learning how to bring a new character to life on stage.
- Performance - The final part of the year is dedicated to putting all these skills to work for a performance piece that showcases their unique talents and abilities! They are ready to demonstrate the skills they've been working on all year, and will be excited to show them off for their friends and family at the end of the year.
